KAMELIA KIDS OPEN DAY - 5 NOV 22

Kamelia Kids Day Nursery actively participates in caring for the environment and promotes sustainable practices through educating and working with the children, families, and the wider community.

Earlier this year, Kamelia Kids entered the Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Award scheme and were delighted to win £250 worth of vouchers towards purchasing plants for their community garden. This included an apple tree to commemorate the late Queen’s memory who advocated her love for the environment and was committed to preserving woodland and wildlife. In promoting the Queen’s enduring legacy, the staff and children have been busy creating a vegetable garden hich has enabled us to create an environment to help children learn all about nature, growing food and eating it.

The vegetable garden was officially opened during Kamelia Kids Open Day on Sat 5 Nov 22 by The Mayor of Worthing,  Councillor Henna Chowdhury at our Open day. We were so thrilled to show her and the community our garden, with the plaque on the wall and the trees and plants we had bought with our £250 awarded to us.

Our Preschool children made chutney with the green tomatoes we grew and the proceeds are going to Children in Need, a charity very close to our hearts.  All in all it was an enjoyable day.
