We are intending to transform an area of our outside space into a new sensory garden. The sensory garden will provide the outdoors in a way that stimulates children's senses, provide opportunities for learning and to have fun - whatever the weather.
We will be purchasing plants, tools and reclaimed railway sleeps for raised beds. This will include a range of tactile and fragranced plants that help the children explore all their senses e.g. sunflowers (sight), bamboo (sound), lavender (smell), lamb's ears (touch) and wild strawberries (taste). We will also be purchasing child-sized gardening tools and watering cans to give children opportunities to get as involved as they can in the development of the planting and caring for the garden.
