Fundraising Supporters

Our supporters help to support our nursery to care for children of all abilities including those with special and additional needs.

The support we receive from foundations and grant-giving trusts is vital. Over the last two years we have received donations from Garfield Weston Foundation, Henry Smith Charity and Ernest Kleinwort Charitable trust enabling us to fund some of our projects to ensure that the nursery continues its work.

Local companies and organisations also help support the nursery by ‘Give and Gain’ Day which is the UK’s only national day of employee volunteering. For one day every year, people around the world give up their day jobs and volunteer to support a local community organisation during working hours. This is a national volunteering day of action, where all projects will require teams of willing, eager and able volunteers to participate in a range of practical challenges. This strength in numbers enables the completion of tasks that would be otherwise unachievable and demonstrates the power of volunteering in transforming communities.

Over the last 2 years we have been greatly supported by local companies in doing this type of volunteering (Legal and General, Southern Water, Ricardo, Benton Weatherstone, Haskins, Simmons Signs, Robert Luff, Manhattan Kitchens and Rabbit Skips) whether this was painting and decorating, landscaping, gardening, maintenance work it all helps towards the upkeep and maintenance of our nursery.

In addition, local organisations have held an array of events - British Motors Cycle Owners – Sussex Club, Worthing District Model Engineers, Salvation Army, St Mary’s Church, Edwin James Festival Choir and Rowlands Singers.

Last year we were one of the Worthing Mayor’s chosen charities during 2015/16. This year we were thrilled to hear that we had been selected by our local Co-op supermarket as their Charity of the Year.

This year the West Worthing Rotary Club donated funds for sensory items and equipment for the benefit of children with special and additional needs. In addition we are anticipating working in partnership with the Rotary Club and setting up ‘Friends of Kamelia Kids’. This will hopefully help towards fundraising for projects and engage other local people for support.

Other donations have been made in the form of our donation boxes which have been out in the community and placed in local shops, cafes and residential homes – Hays Travel, Ceres Health Shop, Best Wishes/Cardus, The Verandah cafe, and residents of Guardian Court.

Whether organizing community events or donating funds, all our supporters have one thing in common: funding a much loved and needed nursery to support children in the local community.

All this help is vitally important and enables us to keep on giving support to our children and their families.

It’s been incredibly beneficial meeting other parents in the same boat. We’ve built really strong relationships here and feel much less isolated
Kate, Kamelia Kids parent
I love Kamelia Kids and all the staff in it. Having been in Worthing less than a year, I thought my little girls would struggle to settle, like she did at her last nursery but no…, from day one she has loved every bit which as a Mum is the number one thing. The staff are amazing and so experienced. Thank you to all the team
